The Christian Mobile Medical Team is a humanitarian organization that has been working in the country of Ukraine for the last 11 years. Up to the present time we have conducted 196 medical outreaches and evaluated 53,424 patients in different regions of the country.
Our goal as an organization is to provide care to those in need. Our medical team is comprised of volunteers (doctors, nurses, physician assistants, other social workers) who work together with local church members and other parachurch organizations. Together we provide free medical consultations, preach the Word of God and put on educational programs to promote a healthy lifestyle and discourage use of narcotics and other addicting substances. As supplies permit, we distribute humanitarian aid to disadvantaged families, children’s homes, rest homes for the elderly, and to those who have suffered from natural disasters.
A medical outreach begins with the medical team arriving in an area and setting up to receive patients. The following types of specialist are usually available to our patients during an outreach; internists, family doctors, pediatricians, gynecologist, surgeon, orthopedist, ophthalmologist, and dentist.
In the clinic’s diagnostic “arsenal” we have everything necessary to make a preliminary diagnosis: an electrocardiogram, a portable ultrasound machine, a clinical laboratory, x-ray facilities, and other items for physical diagnosis such as peak flow meters, otoscopes and ophthalmoscopes. Our specialists also make every effort to work in close contact with local health authorities.
After the medical evaluation, each patient has the opportunity to hear gospel preaching, talk individually with a prayer counselor and receive free Christian literature.
